Affirmation for the Pisces New Moon

Tuesday, February 28, 2006

Pisces Lunation
New Phase
Pisces Sun
Pisces Moon
My personal affirmation for this lunation cycle is:

I plant seeds of love and nourish them with laughter and joy.

From our book, Moon Magic: The Ancient Art of Time Management

Pisces Lunation Cycle/New Moon in Pisces
This lunation cycle is about expressing compassion, spirituality, release and surrender. Feel your way. Impressions are important.

Activities:
Surround yourself with silence or the sounds of moving water. Spend time alone, allowing yourself extra space to listen to the still voice within. Ask for guidance in deciding what to release and what to renew. Look for answers in dreams and visual meditations. Haul your illusions and delusions out into the light for examination. Turn your personal intention into a positive affirmation and use it as a touch stone to renew your vision throughout the coming cycle.

Exercises:
Play your favorite piece of inspirational, calming or dreamy music as the background to this new moon visualization. Take three cleansing breaths and a few moments to ground, center and balance your energies. Get comfortable. Sit straight, but not stiff, with your feet flat on the floor. Breathe, relax and align.
Breathe, relax and align. And, once you're settled in and ready to begin --

Imagine sitting in theater, watching a music video while waiting for the feature film.

Swirls of color flow
across the screen forming and reforming into visual patterns matching the musical vibrations.

Note the colors as they dissolve melodically and the scene transforms slowly into a beautiful and tranquil landscape.

Observe the features of this special landscape, placing yourself comfortably at rest in it.

Inhale the beauty of your surroundings.

Hear the pulse of inner peace resonating within you.

Feel your connection to the earth move up through the bottoms of your feet, as you stand and begin to move your body in response to the rhythms of release.

See your connection to spirit as a golden light radiating from your heart, energizing a spontaneous expression of graceful motion, as you dance the
joyful experience of inner peace.

Dance to your heart's content.

Alternate exercise:
Buy some children's finger paints and spend an hour painting with your toes instead of your fingers. Look appreciatively at what your feet share with you. You could gain a whole new perspective on where you stand.

Hmmm... there's still a couple of days left in this phase to try the toe painting exercise. I wonder where finger paints are sold?

Aquarius Lunation
Balsamic Phase
Pisces Sun
Capricorn Moon

Balsamic The end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Keywords for the Balsamic phase are: transition, release, transformation, renewal, purity. It is the phase in a cycle when you must let go of everything you have been working on that does not deal with current cycle issues. During this phase you reflect on the passing cycle and prepare for the new. Trust in renewal. It is important to separate from others now so that you can clear the intellect of negativity. LET GO. Become still and meditate.

Aquarius Lunation Cycle
Last Quarter Phase
Pisces Sun
Sagittarius Moon

Last Quarter Keywords for the Last Quarter phase are: realignment, revision, integration, cleansing. It is the time in a cycle to take closing action, to follow-up and complete the activities begun at the New phase. During this phase you become aware of what is and is not working with respect to the achievement of your goal for the cycle. The movement is toward integration. Open to your success. MANIFEST YOUR GOAL. Be responsible.

Promoting Spirituality and Introspection

Sunday, February 19, 2006
Aquarius Lunation
Disseminating Phase
Pisces Sun
Scorpio Moon

A sharing in honor of the current positions of the Heavenly Lights, Sun in Pisces and Moon in Scorpio. Their symbolism illuminates the mystical aspects of life's journey that guide us through the darkness to an understanding of the truth of our oneness with the All That Is.

In keeping with the promotional qualities associated with the Disseminating phase, I have 2 book recommendations. Both are books of meditations meant to be read at random.
The chapters in each are short - one or two pages- and the meditations are even shorter - a paragraph at most.

Both books feature the writings of mystics. One is based on a variety of Sufi masters, the other, on a 16th century Carmelite nun. Each expresses a different spiritual tradition, yet both emphasize the importance of going within to gain perspective on the daily challenges of life. The respective authors, one a man and the other a woman, have achieved their objective of elucidating and inspiring the practice of devotion.

I've been meditating with them at sunset each day
for the past week. I pick up one of the books, read whatever chapter my hand opens to and meditate as advised. Immediately after that, I do the same with the other volume. Each day has produced a personal awareness made especially profound by the synchronicity of the chosen meditation's content.

Personal Lessons

Aquarius Lunation
Disseminating Phase
Pisces Sun
Scorpio Moon

It's during the Disseminating phase that one gains clarity by sharing what's been learned in the course of the cycle. Review your activities during the First Quarter phase to see how they tie into your current experience.

My "To Do" list for the First Quarter phase included purchasing some art supplies and the materials for my "Extended Life Cycle" work, along with writing a few thank you notes and doing the initial set up for my new blogs. Although I accomplished everything on my list, I found myself discouraged by my effort to set up the blogs. One of the names I wanted to use was unavailable. Then there were the issues of rewriting my profile and writing a defining caption for each one.

Interesting that my personal affirmation was "I articulate the positive". Perhaps if I had followed through with the rest of the First Quarter exercise for this cycle, repeating it out loud until it developed into a rhythmic mantra I could dance to, I might not have become so bogged down during Gibbous.

It's one thing to give advice, another to follow it.

The best thing about working with the lunar cycles, is that the opportunities for growth repeat often.

Friday, February 10, 2006
Aquarius Lunation
Gibbous Phase
Aquarius Sun
Cancer Moon

From our book, Moon Magic: The Ancient Art of Time Management

Aquarius Lunation Cycle/Gibbous Moon in Cancer
Examine the feelings that precede or accompany your need to rebel, to be different, or to assert your individuality. Trust in your emotions, your sensitivity and your abilities to nurture and protect.

Activities:

Analyze your feelings, especially about home and family. List ways your family or the general public can be seen differently. Consider how your emotional attachments and needs for security qualify the attainment of your hopes, dreams and wishes. See yourself "feeling" in new situations.

Exercises:
Review the images associated with your intent during the new phase. Notice in particular any images that evoke strong emotions. Affirm your inventiveness and anchor it in your mind with visions of the future. Draw a mandala or an abstract design in black and white and make a copy. Fill one copy in with colors that express your current feelings. Color the other copy to convey how you think you would feel if your wishes come true.

Aquarius Lunation Cycle/First Quarter Moon in Taurus
Take independent and inventive action to secure your personal resources or stand up for your values.

Step away from old patterns. Break away from group concerns. Act to ground your inventiveness. Give solid form to your ideals. Buy something for yourself that supports your goal.

Exercises:
Affirm the abundance of your genius and anchor it in your body with unhurried and sensuous movement. Create a personal affirmation proclaiming your talents. Stand up and say it out loud repeatedly, until it becomes a rhythmic mantra. Let your whole body move to the rhythm of your mantra. Feel the beat of your commitment flow and become grounded with each touch of your feet to the floor.

Committing to my Goals

Saturday, February 4, 2006
Aquarius Lunation
Crescent Phase
Aquarius Sun
Taurus Moon

I spent this phase clearing out my work and study spaces; organizing and appreciating my resources.

From ZodiacArts.com Moon Phase Calendar

"Keywords for the Crescent phase are: expansion, growth, struggle, opportunity. It is the time in a cycle that you gather the wisdom learned in the new phase and communicate your intention to move forward. Light a candle. Write or read an affirmation. LISTEN & ABSORB. Commit to your goal."

As an act of commitment to my goals for this cycle, I set up a small sacred space or medicine wheel, made simply with 4 objects that symbolize the 4 elements or 4 directions and in the center, holding a red votive candle representing my connection to Spirit, is a small sterling silver cup inscribed with my name.

I've taken an inventory and sketched out a plan.
So far, so good, so be it.
