Lunar astrology shows us how to manifest our spirituality in the emotional and physical arenas of life. It teaches a universal formula for success (success - n 1: an event that accomplishes its intended purpose. Source: WordNet ® 2.0, © 2003 Princeton University).
My teacher and mentor in the field of lunar astrology, the late Buz Myers, correlated each phase of a cycle to what he called one of "The Four Bodies of Man", which describe four ways of accessing information and activating energy. His insights came from his reading of the Michael books combined with his knowledge of astrology.
Students of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic programming) will recognize the sensory systems they've learned to identify by studying eye movements. Once learned, their technique allows one to match the sensory system being used by another and communicate with them much more easily.
Called a body of man or a sensory system, the phases are associated, with four basic sensory or physical resources:
- Visual or seeing (new and gibbous)
- Auditory or hearing (full and balsamic)
- Sensory or physical sensations of touch, taste, and smell (crescent and last quarter)
- Kinesthetic - physical motion and muscular activity (first quarter and disseminating).
Stimulating the physical resource associated with each phase facilitates a clear envisioning of your intentions for the new cycle. During the crescent phase, information is accessed and processed most easily via the senses of touch, taste and smell.
The solar emphasis in Aries in this lunation cycle suggests focusing on the head and eyes. The lunar emphasis moves from 26 Taurus, through Gemini and halfway into Cancer, suggesting supportive activities like buying a new hat or a pair of sun glasses, or relaxing your brain with aroma therapy, or renourishing your scalp with a head massage.
When the moon is in Taurus, you could use peppermint scented soap or massage oil; in Gemini, massage the area of the 3rd Eye or 6th chakra with lavender or basil oil; in Cancer, use ylang-ylang, jasmine or rose scented shampoos.
Other suggested activities or exercises welcomed. Please share your thoughts and ideas.
